"There is no need to run outside for better seeing... Rather abide at the center of your being;  for the more you leave it the less you learn. Search your heart and see... The way to do is to be."
— Lao-Tzu (6th century B.C.)

Chemotherapy Support:

While chemotherapy attacks cancer cells, it also interferes with the normal functions of the body. Acupuncture and tui na (acupressure) can benefit those patients experiencing:

  • Fatigue
  • Low appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Sleeplessness
  • Anxiety
  • Hot flashes
  • Aches and pains

Pain Management:

One of the effects of acupuncture on the body is its activation of endogenous opiates, which moderate the pain response. This, along with the acceleration of tissue recovery, is the prime result in a very cost-effective and minimally invasive protocol.

  • Back pain
  • Knee pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Arthritis
  • Headache
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • TMJ

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture:

The practice of acupuncture to enhance beauty dates back to China’s Song Dynasty (960-1279 A.D.). The Empress and the Emperor’s concubines used it during this time.  Known in China as Mei Rong, these techniques are referred to in the West as Acupuncture Facelift, Cosmetic Acupuncture, or Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. In today’s culture of plastic surgery and botox injections, acupuncture offers a safer, more holistic alternative.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture supports our overall health with a focus on revitalizing the face. By maximizing our inner vitality, our eyes glow with radiance, and our inner beauty can shine through. Stimulating the circulation of blood flow and collagen production, as well as increasing facial muscle and skin tone maximizes the beautifying effect.

The benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture may include:

  • Improved muscle tone and dermal contraction
  • Increased collagen production
  • Reduction of bags under the eyes and a lessening of the tendency toward sagging and jowls
  • Decreased puffiness around the face
  • Elimination of fine lines on the face, and reduction of larger wrinkles
  • Hormonal balancing for hormonal acne or dry skin
  • Moistening of the skin through increased circulation to the face
  • Improvement of facial color through increased circulation
  • Tightening of the pores
  • Lifting of drooping eyelids
  • Reduction of stress evident in the face
  • Emergence of one’s innate beauty and radiance

A typical course of treatment consists of 10 to 15 consecutive treatments. The first 6-10 treatments should be performed twice per week. After the initial course of treatments, monthly or seasonal maintenance sessions are recommended to prolong the effects of the acupuncture.

Nutritional changes, herbal supplements, herbal/flower essences, and meditation coaching may all be included in the program to further support the process of enhancing health and revealing beauty. Rebecca Rice is a licensed acupuncturist in New York, and has been certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture.
